Whew, been a while, eh? I must apologize for not updating sooner. It’s just been really hectic between Christmas and New Years as I’m sure you can imagine. I look forward to catching up with all my favorite bloggers! I hope you all had a fabulous holiday!

I apologize in advance for the length of this post…there is a lot to catch up on!

As far as weight loss, I am still very much on track. The last time I blogged was on Dec. 15th for my Week 11 Weigh-In. I weighed 230.8 at the time for a total loss of 25.2 pounds. Since then I’ve lost an additional 2.8 pounds as follows:

12/21 – Week 12 – I weighed in at 228.4 for a 2.4 lb loss for the week
12/28 – Week 13 – I weighed in at 228 for a .4 loss for the week

This brings my total weight loss so far to 28.0 lbs. My next weigh-in will be on Monday.

Now, I must confess that my fitness level has been way down. I went to the gym the night before last for about an hour, but honestly, that was the first time I’d been in…a while. (three weeks?) My eating has remained fairly solid, even over Christmas, but I really had a hard time finding the time and motivation to exercise. And I know I’ve been slacking here on my blog. My food log, photo page, etc all need to be updated and I plan to do that soon. (I have been keeping a written log for the past couple of weeks, so it just needs to be transferred here).

Christmas was great and brought us lots of fitness & health related goodies! My mother decided to get us a family gift this year instead of individual gifts…it was a Wii! Shock doesn’t even BEGIN to describe how I felt when I saw it! Just look at my face! LOL

ChristmasWii

We’d been wanting one for a while, but could never really justify the expense. Thanks mom! Along with it we got the sports package, Mario, and a game w/30 family games on it. (Thanks to my sister and nephew!) We are planning to get the Biggest Loser Ultimate Strength Kit soon.

Also, my husband got me a food processor/blender, which I had been wanting as well. We haven’t used it yet, but I’m really looking forward to experimenting with some smoothies and who knows what else! And last, but not least, these:

New running shoes, Nike Shox! I was in dire need of these as my old sneakers were way too small and made my feet so sore.

Anyway, let me tell you about this fitness challenge I joined today! My friend, Lynne, invited me to join this fitness challenge through her workplace (Sheriff’s office). It’s called the 911 Fitness Challenge and it was started a few years ago by this guy who used to weigh over 300 lbs and has since lost the weight. He was the one there today weighing everyone in and I overheard him saying he is a marathon runner now! Anyway, the entry fee is $20 and the challenge last 12 weeks long. There will be prizes for individuals as well as teams…oh, yeah, our team is called “Extreme Makeover, Booty Edition”! LOL! It’s me, Lynne, her mom, her aunt, and one of her coworkers. I am SOOO friggen stoked about this and it really has me fired up – which is just what I need right now! We ARE gonna do this Lynne!!!

I have also decided to join Steve’s Perfect 10 Challenge over at Logmyloss. I’ve been giving a lot of though to my goals over the last few weeks, so without further adieu, here are the goals I’m setting to accomplish over the next 10 weeks:

  • Walk 100 miles over the course of the 10 weeks. This will help keep me on track to reach 500 for the year.
  • Continue the C25K program, doing it at least 3 days per week until completed.
  • Start riding my bike. No time or distance restraints for this. This one is purely just to get over my fear and DO it…at least once and I’ll be happy.
  • Not drink ANY soda. This is also a goal for the year.
  • Participate in (3) 5k races. This will help keep me on track to do 12 for the year.
  • Start a garden
  • Go to bed by 11:00 on work nights, but preferably 10:00.
  • Sign up for Karate (or another martial art if Karate isn’t available)
  • Go to the gym before work at least 3 days per week.
  • Stay within my budget every month (using YNAB) This is a yearly goal as well.
  • Read the Bible each day using this plan. Another yearly goal.

Well, I think that’s it for the night…lol. If you’ve read all of that you deserve an award!

2009 was the year I proved to myself just how capable and strong I can be. I’ve lost 28 pounds so far and am looking forward to losing more in 2010. Here’s to a healthier and happier 2010 for us all!
