Week 14 – Weigh-In

by Josie on January 4, 2010 · 11 comments

Today I weighed in at 227.8 which means I lost .2 lbs for the week bringing my total weight loss since 9/28 to 28.2 lbs.

I am not surprised by such a low number given my lack of exercise over the last couple of weeks. If anything I’m surprised it’s not worse. But, there’s no sense in dwelling on what I should’ve or could’ve done differently. As my grandma used to say, ‘If if’s and but’s were candy and nuts it’d be Christmas all year long!‘ Today is a new day and I’m movin’ on!

For breakfast this morning, I had 4 small pancakes and scrambled eggs thanks to my lovely husband who brought me breakfast in bed. :-) It was a very nice surprise and a wonderful way to start what was sure to be a miserable Monday being the first day back after a 4 day weekend!

For lunch I had a fresh fit meal from Subway, the 6″ turkey and ham. They have the new value meals for 3.99 and the sub is 300 calories when you have it without cheese or mayo (which is how I eat mine anyway). I also had baked lays and a bottled water. I had brought my gym bag (thanks again Jody!) with me to work today with the intentions of doing some kind of exercise on my lunch hour, whether it be resistance bands or just walking the stairs back and forth, but my plan got thwarted! My bosses decided to stay in for lunch today. Gah! I am NOT exercising around them! Uh-uh! No way! So there went that.

Tonight my husband made stir fry for dinner. It’s one of my favorite meals! Lately when we have it I’ve been eating mine without the stir fry sauce…it’s not high in calories, but OMG at the sodium! So, I’ve just been eating the veggies and meat with no sauce…tonight though, I gave in and ate the sauce. If anyone knows of any stir fry sauce that has a reasonable amount of sodium in it, please let me know. We currently use Kikkoman brand.

Well, I’m off to the gym to try and burn my calories for the day! Hope you had a fabulous Monday!

Josie – any loss is a good loss and getting back into an exercise regimen is going to bring you back up to speed, for sure! Subway is a favorite lunchtime meal for me – I always get a footlong veggie (sans cheese) with every veggie available, except for olives. I can’t stand olives. A drizzle of honey mustard and I’m one happy girl. Have you ever diluted your soy sauce? Instead of using 1/2 C. sauce, try using 1/4 C. sauce and then use low sodium chicken stock. I just stir the soy sauce and chicken stock in a small bowl and then add to my wok. If you don’t want to use stock or don’t have any on hand, you can always use water! Hope you had a good workout!!!

Erin, that’s a great idea. I am going to try that myself. I too LOVE STIR FRY. Of course I’m doing the low carb thing so it’s hard to find a stir fry sauce w/ low carbs. And yeah, you are right about the sodiam, ACK!

No weight gain.. that is a good ting during the holidays!!! YES, just get back to it & make it consistent no matter what, even if it 3 days instead of 5 or 2 days instead of 3 AND shorter mini sessions 2 or 3 times a day can work too! Check out my post tomorrow, Tuesday for more on this.

So glad you like the bag!!! How did the gym go???

Stir fry with a reasonable amount of sodium. Hold on while I catch my breath. I am laughing really hard. :-) Just kidding Josie. It sounds like you came to the same conclusion I have, they don’t make it. Erin’s idea sounds like a good one though.

LOL Steve! Erin, thanks for the suggestion…I will have to try that next time I feel like I just can’t pass the sauce up. I just got weak tonight.

Jody, the gym was great! I.am.very.sore though! which is a good thing. :-) It felt good to update my dailymile status. It had been 28 days! yikes!

Yeha, Josie–a loss is always good, no matter how small (there’s a Dr Seuss line in there somewhere, I think). I love your attitude and it sounds like you’re really motivated.

And yeah, let me know when you fund a good, low-sodium stir-fry sauce! Yikes on that stuff, huh??
