Thanks so much to Erin for tagging me in the Happy 101 game!

happy101

I’m supposed to list 10 things that make me happy and then pick 10 other people to do the same! I’m going to follow Erin’s lead and take “things” literally here, which means no family or friends…just “things”:

1. Rollercoasters – Of course it’s been a while since I’ve been on one, but I absolutely love them. I am looking forward to being smaller so that I can fit into them with ease.

2. Genealogy – I have been tracing my family tree for the past couple of years now and have really enjoyed it. The “Stidham” side of my family was most interesting because I found out that a lot of the work had already been done. There is an entire society dedicated to the lineage of Mr. Timen Stiddem , my great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather! When I started to research the Wilkins side of my family, I found a lot of relatives (living!) that I never knew existed. Some of which I now have on Facebook and we are planning a family reunion for this May. I love this stuff.

3. CVS – If you didn’t think I was crazy before, you will now. How can a girl possibly love a drugstore? Because I get stuff free there. I’m one of those crazy coupon ladies and CVS is my favorite store for this. Their Extra Care Buck program makes it very EASY to get free stuff every week if you roll them week to week, which I do. This allows us to stockpile on a lot of things for pennies out of pocket.

4. Old Letters/Journals/Cards/other Mementos – I have journaled since I was a little girl and remarkably, still have most of my old journals from back then. I have also kept most letters and cards I’ve received through the years as well. I just love going back and reading through this stuff. It reads like a timeline of my life…I’m a very nostalgic person.

5. Road Trips/Travelling – Due to finances we can’t take near as many as we would like, but I love it when we get to travel, especially if it’s to see a place we haven’t yet.

6. My Gym, Tags – Seriously, I love that place. It’s a locally owned gym, the price is fantastic, they’re open till 9, and they offer a lot of classes that are free to members. I’m comfortable there and never really feel like the people around me are laughing at me or looking down on me (which was my biggest fear in joining a gym)

7. Pictures - I love taking them, looking at them, organizing them, scrapbooking them, you name it. You might remember when I previously mentioned how obsessive I am when it comes to organizing them, but yeah, I’m pretty anal when it comes to my photos!

8. Yardsales and Thriftstores – One of my favorite hobbies is to get up early Saturday morning and go ‘yard saling’, a lot of the time with my mother. You can find so many neat things that way, at great prices.

9. Squishies – This is what my daughter calls the hugs she gets from me. I love getting and giving Squishies! We joke now that as I become more fit, we will have to rename it to “firmies”. :-P

10. American Idol – (Which started tonight!!!) I love this show!! Oh, and I openly admit that I am a Taylor Hicks fan, have been since his first audition on the show. Saw him live many times. Love his music and I’m not ashamed to say it! (There is more to him and his music than what was presented on AI ) Some other past favorites of mine are Jennifer Hudson, Nadia Turner, and flame me now, Adam Lambert. But, yes, I wase one of the millions who tuned in this evening for the first episode of the newest season!

I will pass this on to the following people who have made an impact on me! (Sorry if any of you already received it)

A quick update on my day: Did 2 miles tonight at the gym doing intervals between walking and jogging. Had a great food day as well. My husband surprised me today with some Honeycrisp apples! MMmmm!
