I love food and I hate to exercise. What a deadly combination.

Oh, I could write paragraphs trying to justify my weight. You know, try to convince you it’s genetics, or stress, or whatever else I could think of, but really it all comes down to the simple fact that I love food and I hate to exercise. But you know what? Those are choices that I make on a daily basis. Nobody forces me to eat Burger King almost everyday for lunch. Nobody forces me to sit on my butt every night watching tv or surfing the net instead of exercising. These are choices that I make, and my body is a direct reflection of those choices. So, I made a decision that on my 35th birthday I would start making healthier choices and blog about it. Well, I turn 35 tomorrow (9/28/09) so here I am.

To give you a little background about who I am, my name is Josie and I am married with two charming daughters. I want to inspire them. I want to learn how to live a healthy lifestyle so that I can teach them how to do the same. I want to do more things with them – simple things that aren’t so “simple” to someone of my size, like riding bikes or taking walks with them. Most importantly, I just want to live to see them grow up and have families of their own. My grandfather died from a heart attack. My mother has diabetes. I know the reality of what’s in store for me unless I make better choices.

So, that’s why I’m here. I hope you’ll follow along and watch my progress and maybe help hold me accountable. Lord knows I’m going to need it!
